Soccer Game Preview: Roma vs. Martin

Roma hasn't had much luck against Martin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Gladiators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 8:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Roma's offense. They fell just short of Mission by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Roma can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 657th, while Mission are ranked 264th).

Meanwhile, while the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Martin who was credited with the win on Tuesday. The Tigers got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Nixon's four.

Roma's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14-2. As for Martin, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.
