Lamar and Basalt squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Lamar had to settle for second. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Longhorns. The Thunder's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Ayden Hose made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Basalt, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-12.

Lamar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Basalt, they will challenge Eaton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Reds will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Longhorns surely won't give up without a fight.
