Basketball Game Preview: Pioneer Mustangs vs. Christopher Cougars

The Pioneer Mustangs will challenge the Christopher Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pioneer has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Pioneer turned things around against Branham on Wednesday. They walked away with a 65-55 win over the Bruins.

Meanwhile, Christopher earned a 57-45 victory over Santa Teresa on Wednesday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Saints are ranked 469th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Christopher's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points per game. As for Pioneer, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-6.
