Schuylerville entered their tilt with Johnstown on Friday with 13 consecutive wins dating back to last season, and they'll enter their next game with 14. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 27-21 W against the Sir Bills. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Horses' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Sir Bills are ranked 296th).

Schuylerville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ben VanVegthen, Ernie DaCosta, and Hudson Peck picked up one apiece.

Several Sir Bills players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maxx Miller, who picked up 86 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Another player making a difference was Aydan D'Amore, who picked up 129 receiving yards and one score.

Schuylerville's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Johnstown, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Schuylerville will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Hudson on Friday. As for Johnstown, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cobleskill-Richmondville at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
