Football Recap: Shiloh Christian Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Lincoln Christian

Shiloh Christian is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Lincoln Christian. The Saints fell 41-33 to the Bulldogs. The Saints have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Max Eldridge and Cole Creighton certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Eldridge rushed for 119 yards and a pair of TDs, while Creighton threw for 362 yards and two touchdowns. Eldridge also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making six total tackles. A healthy portion of Creighton's aerial production (108 yards to be exact) went to Zane Sluyter.

Shiloh Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tate Barnard and Zander Salter. Salter is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Shiloh Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lincoln Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Shiloh Christian has already played their next matchup, a 72-0 win against Bethany on the 19th. As for Lincoln Christian, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Stigler at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
