Basketball Game Preview: Boiling Springs Bulldogs vs. Eastside Eagles

The Boiling Springs Bulldogs will challenge the Eastside Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Boiling Springs saw some tournament action on Sunday. They came out on top against Sumter by a score of 60-47. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Gamecocks are ranked 86th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Eastside challenged A.C. Flora on Saturday. Eastside snuck past A.C. Flora with a 68-63 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Eastside's win came from a few key players Boiling Springs will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brandon Ray, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Rouse, who posted ten points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Eastside was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Boiling Springs' win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Eastside, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
