Basketball Recap: Barrack Hebrew Academy Comes Up Short

If Barrack Hebrew Academy was feeling good fresh off their 50-29 takedown of Kimberton Waldorf last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Barrack Hebrew Academy Cougars were beaten by the Academy of the New Church Lions 79-34 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 495th, while the Lions are ranked 82nd).

Cameron Smith was his usual excellent self, as he made all 6 shots he took racking up 13 points and seven rebounds for Academy of the New Church. Eric Tati also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Barrack Hebrew Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Academy of the New Church, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-9 record.

Barrack Hebrew Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Shipley at 5:30 p.m. As for Academy of the New Church, they will head out to square off against Abington Friends at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
