Basketball Recap: Austin Comes Up Short

Austin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-35 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mae Jemison Jaguars. The Black Bears were not able to make up for their defeat to the Jaguars from their previous meeting back in November of 2023.

Austin's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Mae Jemison, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Austin won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Decatur Heritage Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Decatur Heritage Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. Mae Jemison and Northridge will round out the year against one another at at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
