Soccer Game Preview: Phillips Academy vs. Taft School

The Phillips Academy Big Blue will head out to face off against the Taft School Big Red at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Phillips Academy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Phillips Academy fell victim to Loomis Chaffee School and their airtight defense last Friday. They lost 3-0 to the Pelicans. That's two games in a row now that Phillips Academy have lost by exactly three goals.

Meanwhile, Taft School got the win against Deerfield Academy on Wednesday by a conclusive 6-2. Fans of Taft School have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

Phillips Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Taft School, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Phillips Academy skirted past Taft School 2-1 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Big Blue since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
