Basketball Game Preview: Webber Trojans vs. Cobden Appleknockers

The Webber Trojans will face off against the Cobden Appleknockers on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Webber came up short against Goreville on Thursday, falling 73-51. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Blackcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Webber's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Nathaniel Marlow, who posted 21 points, and Kylan Moser, who had 15 points.

Meanwhile, Cobden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Agape Christian and fell 63-26.

Cobden's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Webber, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-4.

Everything came up roses for Webber against Cobden in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-27 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Webber since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
