Baseball Recap: Kindred Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Kindred came out on top against Hatton/Northwood on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Vikings took their match against the Thunder 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

The team relied heavily on Sawyer Hesse, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylan Swenson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Kindred always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .560. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kindred pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Hatton/Northwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Kindred will be playing at home against Central Cass at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hatton/Northwood, they will square off against Oakes at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday.
