Softball Recap: Alcona Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Alcona can now relate to. They came up short against the Mio-Au Sable Thunderbolts on Friday, falling 12-2. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Alcona saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adriana Grimshaw, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Elliyana Grimshaw was another, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Alcona has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-15 record this season. As for Mio-Au Sable, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-8.

As of now, neither Alcona nor the Thunderbolts have any future games scheduled.
