Basketball Recap: Jackson Prep Falls Short Against Ranked Leake Academy

On Saturday, Jackson Prep faced Leake Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Jackson Prep Patriots fell just short of the Leake Academy Rebels by a score of 42-40. It was the first time this season that the Patriots let down their fans at home.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leake Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jenna Allen, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Prince, who earned six points.

Jackson Prep's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for Leake Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.

Jackson Prep will take on Lanier in a holiday battle at at 11:45 a.m. on Friday. Leake Academy and East Rankin Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
