Baseball Recap: Woodrow Wilson Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Woodrow Wilson waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Bellflower Buccaneers with a sharp 9-3 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bruins also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.

Cooper George was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nathaniel Parris, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rudy Carlos, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.

Woodrow Wilson's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Bellflower, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.

Coming up, Woodrow Wilson will head out to challenge Roosevelt at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
