Basketball Game Preview: Lake Travis Cavaliers vs. Westlake Chaparrals

The Lake Travis Cavaliers will take on the Westlake Chaparrals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lake Travis is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 65-34 win over Dripping Springs. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Tigers are ranked 716th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Westlake entered their tilt with Bowie on Friday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They claimed a resounding 63-33 victory over the Bulldogs.

Westlake is also on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.9 points per game. As for Lake Travis, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-11.

Lake Travis might still be hurting after the 46-23 loss they got from Westlake in their previous matchup on January 3rd. Can Lake Travis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
