Basketball Game Preview: Penobscot Valley Howlers vs. Central Red Devils

The Penobscot Valley Howlers will face off against the Central Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Penobscot Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Dexter, who was ranked 15th at the time (Penobscot Valley was ranked second). Penobscot Valley took their contest last Thursday with ease, bagging a 62-32 win over Dexter. The victory was just business as usual for the Howlers, who after 19 games remain undefeated this season.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Central had no trouble coming through when it counted. They breezed past Bucksport to the tune of 63-31 on Tuesday.

Penobscot Valley's win was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.1 points over those games. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

Penobscot Valley might still be hurting after the 46-23 loss they got from Central in their previous matchup back in February of 2018. Can Penobscot Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
