Baseball Recap: Morse Comes Up Short

Morse extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 6-21. They fell 13-8 to the Scripps Ranch Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-6 on Monday.

Morse got a big performance out of Tommy Killingsworth, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Jacob Hoffman also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

As for Scripps Ranch, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-12-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

On Scripps Ranch's side, Camdyn Yossem was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Yossem has become a key player for the Falcons: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 11-12-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Dawson, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

While Morse had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
