Softball Recap: Dixon Continues Road Dominance on Monday

Dixon waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over the Woodland Wolves. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Dakota Gaball made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Morris, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Olivia Gomez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.

Dixon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.

Dixon pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Woodland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

Dixon has already played their next contest, a 5-3 win against East Nicolaus on the 16th. As for Woodland, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rio Linda at 4:30 p.m. on the 24th.
