Baseball Recap: Lexington Takes a Loss

Lexington lost against Fieldcrest back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Minutemen fell just short of the Knights by a score of 4-3. The Minutemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joe Steffen was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Fieldcrest, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lexington will welcome Warrensburg-Latham at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Minutemen's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fieldcrest, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Eureka at 4:30 p.m. The Hornets will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
