Basketball Game Preview: Greenwood Woodmen vs. Indian Creek Braves

The Greenwood Woodmen will square off against the Indian Creek Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Greenwood strolled past Bloomington North with points to spare, taking the game 67-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Woodmen.

Isaac O'Neal continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 60% from beyond the arc to rack up 26 points and three steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Parker Doolin was another key player, going 6-for-12 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Indian Creek entered their tilt with South Putnam on Friday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 63-57 W against the Eagles. Things were looking grim for the Braves in the first quarter (they were down by 20) but they stormed back to get the game.

Greenwood pushed their record up to 13-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Indian Creek, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Greenwood didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Indian Creek when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 64-59 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greenwood since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
