Basketball Game Preview: East Clarendon Wolverines vs. Manning Monarchs

The East Clarendon Wolverines will face off against the Manning Monarchs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Tuesday, East Clarendon ended up a good deal behind Marion and lost 57-39. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Manning was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-48 heartbreaker at the hands of Lake City. While losing is never fun, the Monarchs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Panthers are ranked 73rd).

East Clarendon's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Manning, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.

East Clarendon came out on top in a nail-biter against Manning when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 50-47. Will East Clarendon repeat their success, or does Manning have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
