Softball Recap: Independence/Gilmanton Takes a Loss

Independence/Gilmanton suffered their biggest defeat since May 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 12-3 to the Blair-Taylor Wildcats. If the Indees were looking for revenge after losing 6-2 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Independence/Gilmanton's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Blair-Taylor, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4.

Coming up, Independence/Gilmanton will face off against Melrose-Mindoro at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Indees' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Blair-Taylor, they have already played their next contest, a 26-0 win against Pepin/Alma on the 7th.
