Whitney came into Friday's game looking for another win against Little River Academy, but Brian Grissom wouldn't allow it. The Bumblebees enjoyed a cozy 49-30 victory over the Wildcats on Friday with plenty of help from Grissom, who rushed for 140 yards and three scores, and also caught one touchdown. Grissom is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 140 every time he's taken the field this season.

Little River Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jayvion White and Josh Mann. Little River Academy got some further help from Carter Kuhn: he made 19 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

The win made it two in a row for Little River Academy and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points over those games. As for Whitney, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Little River Academy and Whitney will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Bumblebees see the field they'll take on Rockdale at 7:30 p.m. on October 10. As for Whitney, their break will end when they face Grandview at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
