Basketball Recap: Dysart Takes a Loss

Dysart lost against Buckeye back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dysart Demons took a 51-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buckeye Hawks. The Demons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Buckeye was led to victory by Amayah Leyva and Sonja Lawson. Leyva posted 15 points, while Lawson went 6 for 9 on her way to 13 points. Lawson continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carsyn Jones, who put up seven points.

Dysart's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Buckeye, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Dysart will square off against Tempe at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dysart is facing Tempe at the right time seeing as Tempe is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Buckeye, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-39 win against Crismon on the 3rd.
