Basketball Recap: Rosedale Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Rosedale Christian Academy lost against Prince George's Christian Academy Blue back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Rosedale Christian Academy Rosedale Panthers had to suffer through a 75-48 loss at the hands of the Prince George's Christian Academy Blue Flyers. While losing is never fun, the Rosedale Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Flyers are ranked 36th).

Rosedale Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Mercer, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Mercer is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. Jason Francisco-Hayes was another key player, putting up 11 points and five steals.

Wisdom Carter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Prince George's Christian Academy Blue, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Sam Caldwell, who posted 15 points.

Rosedale Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Prince George's Christian Academy Blue, they moved to 16-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rosedale Christian Academy has already played their next contest (against Fairfax Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Prince George's Christian Academy Blue has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Springdale Prep.
