Baseball Recap: Tuscaloosa Home Educators Takes a Loss

Tuscaloosa Home Educators was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tabernacle Torches. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 7-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Jackson Sodergren was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Sodergren wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Shelton Milligan, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Dan Mancil was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Tuscaloosa Home Educators' loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Tabernacle, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.

As of now, neither Tuscaloosa Home Educators nor the Torches have any future games scheduled.
