Softball Recap: Democracy Prep Agassi Campus Comes Up Short

Democracy Prep Agassi Campus had lost seven straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-13 to make it eight. They came up short against the Moapa Valley Pirates, falling 20-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 two weeks ago.

Democracy Prep Agassi Campus saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zariah Gatlin, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

As for Moapa Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.

On Moapa Valley's side, they got a massive performance out of Gracy Fullman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Fullman has been hot, having also posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Lyla Shakespear also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Democracy Prep Agassi Campus will challenge rival Cheyenne at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Moapa Valley is set to square off against their familiar foe Virgin Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
