Basketball Recap: Craig County Takes a Loss

Craig County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 56-26 loss at the hands of the Giles Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rockets of the 58-31 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Craig County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Giles, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-13.

Craig County and Giles could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Craig County will challenge Parry McCluer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 195 places (369 vs. 174). Similarly, Giles (ranked 306th) will meet Bland County (ranked 112th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
