Softball Recap: East Stroudsburg South Takes a Loss

The East Stroudsburg South Cavaliers came up short against the North Pocono Trojans on Saturday and fell 8-4. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joslynn Yurescko put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Joey Cappa made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 4-for-4.

East Stroudsburg South now has a losing record of 2-3. As for North Pocono, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, East Stroudsburg South will head out to challenge Nazareth Area at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Pocono, they will host Dallas at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
