Baseball Recap: Kermit Has No Trouble Against Mccamey

Kermit made up a huge gap compared to their last game against McCamey, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Kermit Yellow Jackets put the hurt on the McCamey Badgers with a sharp 10-1 victory on Thursday. The contest marked the Yellow Jackets' most dominant win of the season so far.

Ian Bejarano made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Kermit is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-3 otherwise. Bejarano was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Kermit let Sergio Quiroz and Zakry Salais run wild. Quiroz went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI, while Salais scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, Salais posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Carrasco, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Kermit's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for McCamey, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Kermit has already played their next match, a 22-1 win against Van Horn on the 28th. As for McCamey, they will venture away from home to take on Kermit at 5:00 p.m. on March 7th.
