Baseball Recap: Stone Takes a Loss

Stone and Sumrall squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Stone had to settle for second. They lost 13-3 to the Bobcats. The loss continues a trend for the Tomcats in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Stone saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Obenhaus, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Saylor Wintzell was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Stone's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Sumrall, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Stone beat the Bobcats by a score of 16-15 on Friday.
