Volleyball Recap: Nederland Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ascent Classical Academy, Nederland was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Poudre Community Academy Warriors as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Nederland never let Poudre Community Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-7, 26-24, 25-8.

Nederland's offense was headlined by Roonagh Mannion and River LeMaster, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Reya Levy and her six assists. Mannion was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Nederland's victory ended a seven-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-10. As for Poudre Community Academy, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Looking ahead, Nederland will square off against William Smith at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Poudre Community Academy has already played their next match (against Two Roads Charter School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
