Baseball Recap: Bay Path RVT Has No Trouble Against Westborough

Bay Path RVT won against Douglas on Monday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Minutemen were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Westborough Rangers. The Minutemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.

Jacob Delvalle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Zack Moody and Dale Nussey did most of the damage at the plate: Moody went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Nussey got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those two RBI gave Moody a new career-high. Josh Hemingway was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Bay Path RVT and bumps their season record up to 10-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Westborough, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Looking ahead, Bay Path RVT will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Tantasqua Regional at 4:00 p.m. As for Westborough, they will venture away from home to take on Leominster at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Rangers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
