Soccer Game Preview: Brennan vs. Taft

The Brennan Bears will square off against the Taft Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brennan will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last.

On Saturday, everything went Brennan's way against Stevens as Brennan made off with a 5-1 win. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Falcons are ranked 599th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Taft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harlan. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by exactly two goals.

Brennan has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those eight games. As for Taft, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
