Baseball Recap: Shades Valley Drops Highest Score of Season Against Jackson-Olin

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shades Valley). They were the clear victors by a 21-6 margin over the Jackson-Olin Mustangs on Wednesday. The Mounties haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Braylon Ford was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eli Nelson, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Shades Valley's victory bumped their record up to 4-20. As for Jackson-Olin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-21.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shades Valley will venture away from home to take on McAdory at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jackson-Olin, they will square off against Parker at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thundering Herd have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
