Amite's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Albany on Thursday. The Amite Warriors blew past the Bogalusa Lumberjacks 67-14. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-4.

Amite's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kayla Toefield led the charge by going 9-for-15 en route to 19 points in addition to six assists and six steals. Toefield is becoming a predictor of Amite's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 4-1 (and 6-15 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Curtissiyah Jenkins, who went 8-for-15 on her way to 21 points and four steals.

Amite's win bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Bogalusa, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
