Monarch won the last time they faced Longmont and things went their way on Friday too. The Coyotes blew past the Trojans 43-13. With the Coyotes ahead 31-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Monarch's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Tharp, who picked up 68 receiving yards and two TDs. Tharp showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Malakhi Payne, who rushed for 51 yards and a pair of scores.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Marquis Payne, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Longmont still got an impressive performance from Jacob Foot, who rushed for 173 yards and one touchdown.

Monarch has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Monarch didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-17 defeat against Broomfield on the 5th. As for Longmont, they have also already played their next game, a 55-7 loss against Windsor on the 5th.
