Basketball Recap: Brady Engling Key Part of Team Effort in Bison Win

Buffalo won the last time they faced Burns and things went their way on Saturday too. The Buffalo Bison were the clear victor by a 64-39 margin over the Burns Broncs. The Bison pushed the score to 53-33 by the end of the third, a deficit the Broncs had little chance of recovering from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Buffalo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brady Engling, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 16 points and six boards. Engling has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zayne Huber, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Despite the defeat, Burns had strong showings from Duggan Kriz, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Mason Medley, who earned six points. Kriz has become a key player for Burns: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 3-15 otherwise.

The win made it two in a row for Buffalo and bumps their season record up to 10-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points over those games. As for Burns, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buffalo will head out to take on Douglas at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Douglas knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Buffalo likes a good challenge. As for Burns, they will head out on the road to square off against Glenrock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
