Softball Recap: Gateway Comes Up Short

After flying high against South Fort Myers on Monday, Gateway came back down to earth. The Eagles came up short against the Bonita Springs Bullsharks on Tuesday, falling 13-2. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bullsharks earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Gateway saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Heydi Willmore, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Bonita Springs, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11.

Gateway didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-5 victory against Dunbar on the 16th. As for Bonita Springs, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-3 defeat against Cypress Lake on the 16th.
