Basketball Game Preview: Statesville Greyhounds vs. North Lincoln Knights

Statesville is 2-8 against North Lincoln since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Statesville Greyhounds will head out on the road to face off against the North Lincoln Knights at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Statesville took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against West Iredell as Statesville made off with an 85-65 win. The victory continues a trend for the Greyhounds in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, North Lincoln entered their tilt with Foard on Monday with 12 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 13. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tigers 94-49. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

North Lincoln's win came from a few key players Statesville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ty Chandler, who went 8-for-10 on his way to 19 points. What's more, he also posted a 75% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ty Sanders, who went 7-for-9 en route to 18 points and five rebounds.

North Lincoln pushed their record up to 19-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.7 points. As for Statesville, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.

Statesville lost to North Lincoln on the road by a decisive 68-49 margin when the teams last played back in January. Can Statesville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
