Softball Recap: Hawkins Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Hawkins won against Alba-Golden last Friday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Hawkins beat the Cumby Trojans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Kalyn Ellison spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Londyn Wilson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Taetum Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Hawkins' record now sits at 10-8-1. As for Cumby, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Hawkins will have a chance to go back-to-back against Cumby: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
