Baseball Game Preview: Sinton Pirates vs. Columbia Roughnecks

For the second straight game, Sinton will face off against Columbia. The Pirates will take on the Roughnecks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sinton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Sinton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Columbia a 4-0 shutout.

The result came thanks to Keldon Kemp's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kash Wood was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Dylan Arriaga, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one stolen base.

Sinton is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Columbia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-13-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sinton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game.
