The Lamar Christian Lions entered their tilt with the Purvis Tornadoes with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lamar Christian skirted past Purvis 50-47. That's another feather in the cap for Lamar Christian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
When it comes to explaining why Purvis lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Systren Eliza Elenus. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Eliza Elenus is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Tiyah Evans was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals.
Lamar Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Purvis, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lamar Christian is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Laurel HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Laurel HomeSchool will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Purvis, they will head out on the road to face off against West Marion at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
