Volleyball Recap: Rancho Rams vs. Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas Falcons

Rancho was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Rancho started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-15.

Marian Moreno paced Rancho's offense, picking up ten kills. Moreno got some help from Layla Driscoll and her 25 assists. Lesli Perez controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas found their leader in sophomore Jinelle David, who had 13 digs. Those 13 digs set a new season-high mark for David.

Rancho now has a losing record of 14-15. As for Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-13 record this season.

Rancho and Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, the Rams and Sierra Vista will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bonanza at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
