Softball Recap: Thomas Sumter Academy Comes Up Short

Thomas Sumter Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-2 to the Orangeburg Prep Indians. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Indians this season, with their most recent defeat being a 15-0 loss on Thursday.

Thomas Sumter Academy saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kason Carter, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Thomas Sumter Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Orangeburg Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thomas Sumter Academy will square off against Clarendon Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orangeburg Prep, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hammond at 6:30 p.m. on the 14th.
