Football Game Preview: Rogers Pirates vs. Lauderdale County Tigers + How To Watch

The Rogers Pirates will face off against the Lauderdale County Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Rogers will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up ten points last Friday, then bounced right back against Colbert Heights on Friday. The Pirates claimed a resounding 56-28 victory over the Wildcats. The Pirates' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Nicholas Grigsby had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 178 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries, and also caught one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Cole Marks, who gained 143 total yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rogers was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 290 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, while Lauderdale County put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Sheffield. The Tigers breezed past the Bulldogs to the tune of 62-0. The Tigers have beaten the Bulldogs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Rogers better keep an eye on Calvin Watkins. He was instrumental in Lauderdale County's win, rushing for 80 yards and three scores on only six carries.

Lauderdale County's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Rogers, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
