Softball Recap: Tunstall Trojans vs. Halifax County Comets
Tunstall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell just short of the Halifax County Comets by a score of 6-4. That's two games in a row now that Tunstall has lost by exactly two runs.
Colby Eastwood was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Eastwood has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Eastwood was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Khamauri Mays was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Harper Lovelace, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Tunstall's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Halifax County, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-4-1.
