Softball Game Preview: Chippewa Hills Warriors vs. Gladwin Flying G's

The Chippewa Hills Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Gladwin Flying G at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Chippewa Hills is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Chippewa Hills' offense. They lost 15-0 to Grant on Tuesday.

Meridian hit Gladwin with a six-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Flying G's came up short against the Mustangs, falling 13-2. The Flying G's haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Gladwin saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liz Winchester, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Chippewa Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Gladwin, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Chippewa Hills came out on top in a nail-biter against Gladwin in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
