Baseball Game Preview: South River Rams vs. Princeton Tigers

The South River Rams are taking a road trip to square off against the Princeton Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. South River's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Princeton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

South River had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt North Plainfield on Friday. The Rams' pitchers stepped up to hand the Canucks a 7-0 shutout. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Canucks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Princeton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Hightstown, falling 16-5.

Princeton's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for South River, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.

Everything went South River's way against Princeton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as South River made off with a 12-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
