Football Preview: Clairton Bears vs. Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders

The Clairton Bears will square off against the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Clairton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Greenville 57-0. Winning may never get old, but the Bears sure are getting used to it with their 14th in a row.

Meanwhile, Bishop Guilfoyle got themselves on the board against Belmont Charter on Friday, but Belmont Charter never followed suit. They blew past the Tigers 35-0. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Marauders considering their seven-point performance the game before.

Bishop Guilfoyle found their leader in sophomore Justin Wheeler, who rushed for 116 yards and one TD on only nine carries.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bishop Guilfoyle's defense and their 3.5 sacks. Leading the way was Jesse Georgiana with two.

Clairton's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.

Things could have been worse for Clairton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 17-0 loss to Bishop Guilfoyle when the teams last played back in December of 2016.
